Quilt Block Contest

Entry Fee: $5.00
You will receive one fat eighth (app. 9x21in) of focus fabric. You may add any color or style of fabric you like to this. You will need to make the focus fabric at least 30% of the block.
Finished blocks should measure 9 ½ in. by 9 ½ in from edge to edge. This will allow a ¼” seam allowance on all edges.
Blocks may be hand or machine pieced. Applique blocks may be sewn by hand or machine, you may also use fusible web or interfacing. Embellishments such as hand embroidery, ribbons, buttons, and decorative machine stitches are welcome. However, no machine embroidered blocks will be accepted.
Sew or securely attach your name and address to the CENTER BACK of the block or use an address label. A sticky label in the center is easier to remove without distorting the block. Please do not tape or staple anything to your block.
All Blocks will be on display during the quilt show. Our select group of judges (local merchants) will choose their favorite block and the block with the most votes will win the “Best in Show” ribbon. The winner will also receive their own block back, along with a group of other quilt blocks. There may be other, Honorable Mention winners, depending on the number of quilt blocks received in the contest.
DEADLINE: All quilt blocks must be returned to Rosalia Harvest of Quilts by July 16th, 2022.
